All Grades K-6:
Library:
Grades K and 1 each have a library appropriate to their grade level in their own classroom. Grades 2-6 have the opportunity each week to visit the Lilli Zimet Religious School Library and are encouraged to borrow books. Through a generous budget from the synagogue and individual donations, our library is constantly updated.

Music:  Each grade leaves the classroom every week to have a music period with the Cantor. Songs appropriate to the grade and the season in Hebrew and English, as well as prayers, are taught.

Art:  Several times a month, the children leave the classroom for art with an art specialist. This is in addition to the project the children (particularly in the lower grades) do with their teacher.

Cooking:  For special holidays, a student or graduate of the Culinary Institute
& Baking of America in Hyde Park does an appropriate project with selected classes.

School: For some holidays and other occasions, the entire school joins together for special events. There is an annual Purim Carnival and Events Passover program, and we have joined together for the Torah portion of Noah, a Tu B’Shvat Seder, Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day), and Yom HaAtzma’ut (Israel Independence Day).

Mitzvah Day: All grades participate in Mitzvah day, usually a Sunday in late April,
Established by Jewish Family services. Each class chooses a project, and we hope that these projects become an ongoing commitment along with weekly donations our children make to Keren Ami (tzedakah)
