HEBREW
Hebrew Prayer Naomi Kamlot Tuesdays, 7:30pm, January 24 - February 28
This six session course is intended for students who can read Hebrew. The focus will be on learning the Shabbat prayers, starting with the torah service.
STORIES OF HOUSE AND HOME Andrew Bush Thursdays at 7:30pm, February 9, 16, 23, March 22
A course of conversations about the concepts of house and home on the basis of literary texts, including questions about security and break-ins, sanctity and the uncanny, and the responsibilities of hosts and guests. There will be three regular sessions and a fourth supplementary session. The regular sessions will be devoted primarily to modern Jewish short stories from Israel, the U.S. and elsewhere in the Diaspora, with some references to Biblical texts. The supplementary session will be dedicated to the discussion of Great House, a recent novel by American Jewish author Nicole Krauss. To give appropriate time for the reading, the fourth session is scheduled at the end of March.
WALKING WITH GOD Howard Lynne Tuesdays at 7:30pm, March 13, 20, 27 Howard Lynne teaches a three session course to explore and discuss Jewish views of god. The aim isn't to indoctrinate but to explore. All are welcome, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged to ensure that the class is not cancelled. Call 454-0570 or register online.

Meditation is alive and well in the Jewish world. At each session there will be sitting meditation, walking meditation, chanting or a short reading, time for sharing and for questions. Experienced meditators and those new to meditation welcome. Call Vassar at 454-2570 to register.
