The mission of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism is to strengthen and unite synagogue women’s groups and their members; support them in mutual efforts to understand and perpetuate Conservative / Masorti Judaism in the home, synagogue and community; and reinforce their bonds with Israel and with Jews worldwide.

Temple Beth El has an active Sisterhood. They sponsor the oneg and kiddush following Shabbat Services if there is no Bar or Bat Mitzvah. They ensure there are always flowers on the Bima on Shabbat. They run the Book Shop and Gift Shop using the proceeds to contribute to the custodial fee and the religious school. In addition, they replace kitchen items as needed. They are involved in most of the activities taking place in the Temple.

The Judaica Book and Gift Shop

The Judaica Book and Gift Shops of Sisterhood Temple Beth-El have all that you need for Passover: Haggadot, children's stories, Matzah covers, afikomen presents and hostess gifts.

Some favorite Haggadot are Feast of Freedom Passover Haggadah of the Conservative Movement, by Rachel Rabinowitz, with colorful illustrations by Israeli artist; The Concise Seder and The Family Seder, both by Rabbi Alfred J. Kolatch, and My Very Own Haggadah: A Seder Service for Young Children, by Judy Groner and Madeline Wikler, illustrated by Sally Springer. A Family Haggadah: A Seder for All Generations, by Elie Gindi, is suggested for families of young children who want to conduct an engaging Seder in 45 minutes.

The Shops are closed on April 1 and April 8. Hours are by appointment until Sunday hours will resume on April 15, 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
